How can I think of anything else?
When I’m at the point where crossroads meet.
Disconcerted to the point of breakdown and tears,
The weight of the burden has brought me to my knees.
It consumes my thoughts: the uncertainty of the situation.
It leaves me waking in my sleep.
That wrenching feeling that it’s not in my hands,
That feeling of nervousness that digs so deep.
Hands constantly tremble, feet tapping in impatience.
Waiting should not be so hard.
The fate of my future lies in the balance,
It is not only my happiness that can be torn apart.
But the crossroad is not where it ends.
There are two more paths to choose between.
What does the future want for me?
If only fate could be foreseen.
I want something with all my heart’s desire.
But am I fortunate enough to get my wish granted?
It is not much for a stranger, just a lucky placement.
If only the coin would land in my favour.
And so, hands still shaking and the clock still ticking,
All I ask is still “What if?”
And all I say is still “I wish…”
Begging for fate to grant my plea.
Begging for fate to side with me.
This one time, this one choice.
Maybe years later, I will ask for something else.
I might deem this as a childish wish.
But at this very moment, it is the most important matter.
Surely, that even fate can tell.
