Poet’s Note: What better way to rant than to rant into a poem? I’m sure you can relate to this one.
In a moment of distress, life can seem like it’s too much.
All you want to do is put your foot down and scream “Hell, I’ve had enough!”
Sometimes you don’t even need a reason, just one thought to set you off.
It can leave you crying and cursing and with that wretched feeling, blaming your own stupid luck.
Maybe it’s because someone said something, or maybe because they didn’t-
Either way, it hurts the same, filling your gut with guilt.
Gets you wondering what you did to deserve it, or just what you didn’t.
You feel like a sapling fighting winds so turbulent, you’re on the ground by the first hit.
At times it can feel like there are more lows than highs,
But what if- just what if- you’re not looking at it right?
Because every moment you live is precious- the goods, the bads and the in-betweens.
And if there is anything that life has taught me, it’s that nothing is as it seems.
The good never lasts forever, and the bad doesn’t always leave you reeling.
And the in-between, well, that’s the blessing- it’s the place of healing.
When you accept the presence of the lows, it makes going through it a little lighter.
Know that what goes down must come up, and hold on to the good times a little tighter.
Because under every sun, there is shade and under every moon, a light created.
Just sit back and be one with the changes, and look ahead in life with your breath bated.
