I can only manage to say one thing between my peals of laughter – THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A NINE YEAR OLD!
I found these scribbled in illegible handwriting a few days ago, and after brushing up some punctuation and grammar, it’s out here! The words (however embarrassing they might be) are exactly the same they were almost five and a half years ago.
I thought it might be a treat to share some of my first poems with you all. Just please, please, please remember I had just turned nine and wasn’t exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer😅.
Nature
Nature is green
Like a queen,
Leaves on trees
Which fall free,
Buds which bloom
But never gloom,
Always shining
Like a star,
But I never see it
Whining at all.
Moon
It shines so bright,
All through the night.
It has stars for company
And does its work humbly.
It is so clear,
I can see it all through here.
Ah, Mr. Moon, you do shine.
Oh, how I wish you were all mine!
My Best Friend
My best friend
Loves to read,
And when it comes to studies,
She sprouts like a seed.
She has very long hair
And is quite fair.
She is just like family.
We chatter off together happily.
Farms
The barns are full of hay.
It’s a perfect place to stay.
There are yards and yards of grass,,
Not a single piece of brass.
There are hens and cows
But all I can hear is meows.
There are so many sounds,
And lots of hounds
Sitting on their seat,
Waiting for their meat.
All the ducks in the pond,
The tractors with their horns.
All the animals are here.
Family
There are so many people here and there,
All are living somewhere.
Father and Mother,
Daughter and Son,
But only some of them can run.
Their food is so delicious,
Their cooking is scrumptious.
And there are my grandmothers who like watching TV
My uncles like to travel,
And my little cousin,
I cannot forget him.
He is so small
And he is so tall.
And my parents
Are the best of all.
