READ CHAPTER 1 HERE!
Cinnamon is such a slow writer! It took her almost an hour just to write the first entry, which included a LOT of scratching and groaning. And yesterday, she forgot to get the journal to school! Ok, now it’s time for MY share of the story, which is (obviously) the most interesting. #andtheCOOLEST!
I was about to get lunch with my besties, when suddenly I saw a poster screaming ‘The Tremendous Three: The Mystery of the Secret Cottage is now RELEASED!’
I was so shocked that I dropped my tray on my gorgeous black boots! Total fashion emergency (You can weep for my boots later. Now we both have more important things to do.) I was both excited and horrified. Naturally, I ran as fast as I could to the washroom, where I hurriedly scrubbed the food off my poor boots. After ten minutes of washing and wiping, they were finally sparkly enough to wear.
I dashed out of the washroom, straight to my locker, which was (like, DUH) full of clothes. I threw on a light pink trench coat, a dark pink shawl and put on my favourite magenta shades sunglasses. Before closing the door, I applied baby pink lip gloss and the darkest mascara I had. Hey, a girl’s gotta look good in any situation!
(Later did I realise the mascara couldn’t be seen through the sunglasses. *sobs*)
It took me a while to reach the library unnoticed because I have a lot of fans. Don’t blame me, I’m just being my super popular, super cool self. Everywhere I go, there is a whole mob around me and that day there were even more peeps following me. In the end, I had to use my most despised excuse: I’d love to hang around and chat but I have to go study.
Argh, just saying that gives me the shivers!
As I rushed into the library, I saw Cinnamon sitting on a bean bag, reading the book that I wanted to snatch from her hands. I snuck into a corner and watched her. Ok, Cinnamon (I’m going to be honest here) is a TOTAL book nerd. Every free second she has, she’s busy reading. And she’s also, like, the smartest kid in class so obviously the teachers love her. She’s nice (I guess, ’cause I didn’t know her much that time) but she is also the shyest person on EARTH. Once, I tried talking to her (when my friends weren’t looking, which is btw, super rare) and she was SO quiet. I couldn’t even hear half the things she said, although I was only a few centimetres away from her!
A few centimetres.
So like I was saying, I was spying (oops, sorry, fashionably spying) on Cinnamon, I spotted Nutmeg approaching her. Cinnamon must have told you how Nutmeg is, but like I always say, ‘Every story has two sides.’
(Ok, I don’t actually say that. I got it from the book ‘Wonder’ but DON’T tell anyone I read it. Or else I’ll steal your mascara.)
Nutmeg is the most daring girl I’ve ever met and her choice of clothes is great for a person who doesn’t care about her appearance. Her leather jacket really brings out her eyes, which is bright green btw. Nutmeg and I have our differences, like on Payback Day (Long story. Nutmeg started it by swapping my perfume with rotten eggs mixture. I totally paid her back for that, which ended up with both of us being sent to the Principal’s office.)
Even though I pretended to dislike Nutmeg, I kinda admired her for being so straightforward and bold. But don’t you dare tell anyone, because you will regret it.
Anyway, I saw Nutmeg and Cinnamon talking and followed them to the third row, where I thankfully saw two more books of ‘The Mystery of the Secret Cottage’. I was so excited that I almost squealed, which would have given me away. Suddenly, I heard Cinnamon ask, “Wait, is that Clove?”
Nutmeg laughed and said, “Yeah, it is.”
Then she turned to face me and asked, “Am I right?”
(Nutmeg! STOP TRYING TO SNATCH THE BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK ARGHH STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!)
