1. Confidence is everything!
   When someone is judging you during a debate, the first thing they’ll notice is your confidence. Body language, pronunciation and content are also important but most of all is confidence, confidence, confidence!
   Whatever you are saying, say it with absolute belief. It is YOUR job to convince the audience that you know what you’re doing. Make eye contact, have good voice modulation and try to avoid looking at your speech from time to time!:)
2. Slow down!
   It is absolutely OK to take breaths in between your speech! Don’t go too fast or else your audience will have trouble keeping up with what you’re saying. Pause after asking rhetorical questions, to give it more emphasis. And don’t forget to put more force on conjunctions like but, yet etc.
   
3. Have facts in your points
   This one is simple; the more facts you have in your debate, the harder it is for your opponent to rebuttal. After all, no one can disagree with accurate information! Collect your info from a reliable source, and know what’s going on around you.
4. Ask rhetorical questions
   Squeeze in one or two rhetorical questions, to make sure your audience doesn’t doze off! Give them a few seconds to ponder over it, and then state your reply. This keeps attention levels high, and makes your speech (partially) interactive. But don’t ask too many, or else you might give the impression of trying too hard.
   
5. End with a bang
   Basically, have a strong ending. Let the world know that you have spoken something worth listening. Leave your mark on your audience.
